Big Leaf Maple is found in the northwest United States.
Workability:
Big Leaf Maple is fairly easy to work with; it is softer and easier than Hard Maple. It turns, glues, and finishes well.
Uses:Live edge Big Leaf Maple wood slabs are a popular option for table, bar, and counter tops. It is often sought after when creating River Tables because of the "wild" edges that can be found. Big Leaf Maple burl slabs are in high demand for unique large coffee or dining tables. Big Leaf Maple lumber is used to make fine furniture, instruments, and veneer.
Color:Live edge Big Leaf Maple wood slabs have an off-white spawood and a golden to reddish brown heartwood. It can have a very intense figure including blister, quilted, curl, and burl.

Decay and Weather Resistance:Rated as perishable in regard to decay resistance
