Our Basswood Inventory
We have Angelim Pedra slabs in stock online in sizes that usually range:
- Up to 50" wide
- Up to 17' long
- Up to 3" thick
Basswood Origin:
Basswood is found in northern United States.
Workability:
It is very easy to work with since it is a soft and lightweight species of wood. It glues and finishes well, but is not found to hold nails well.
Uses:Basswood is a good choice when you want a light-colored wood that is also lightweight. Since it is so easy to work with it is also an ideal wood for hand carving
Color:Basswood is creamy white to light brown in color. The sapwood and heartwood is not clearly defined.
Janka Hardness:410 (soft) Slightly harder than Pine.
Decay and Weather Resistance:Decay resistance is low.
