Origin:Monterey Cypress is native to the central coast of California.

Color:The heartwood of Monterey Cypress varies from a pale yellow to light red-brown color, usually found with straight grain and sometimes found with knots. The sapwood is narrow, but defined and off-white in color.

Janka Hardness:620 (soft).  Hardness is comparible to Douglas Fir.

Durability and Weather Resistance:Monterey Cypress is rated as moderately durable.

Workability:Monterey Cypress is easy to work with by hand or machine. It glues, stains, and finishes well. 

Uses: It is used to make furniture and boatbuilding, also can be used for turning.
