DESCRIPTION –Black Mesquite is found in the South American countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.  The heartwood is dark chocolate to medium brown in color and the sapwood is a cream color giving the lumber a highly contrasted look.

 

PROPERTIES – It is a very dense, heavy wood that is resistant to heartwood decay.

 

USES – It is used in an array of applications including furniture, flooring, boats turnery and posts.

 

BLACK MESQUITE SLABS WE NORMALLY STOCK-

Black Mesquite trees grow up to 30’ tall.  We presently have some 5/4 and 8/4 natural edge slabs up to 28” wide.
