  • Up to 40" wide
  • Up to 12' long
  • Up to 2" thick

Origin: Siberian Elm is native to Eastern Asia and was introduced to the U.S. in the 1860s for its hardiness, fast growth, and ability to grow in various moisture conditions.

Color: Siberian Elm is mostly heartwood which is a medium brown color.

Decay and Weather Resistance: Siberian Elm is very durable; it is the hardiest of all the elm species, however it is not decay resistant. Siberian Elm trees are resistant to Dutch Elm disease.

Workability: It should be dried slowly so that the wood doesn’t split. It is considered easy to work with by hand tools and most machinery.

Uses: The attractive interlocking grain makes it an ideal wood for making fine furniture and flooring.
